Lorien Hotel Wedding: Sean and Stevie

Sean and Stevie did it their own way, and it was pretty damn awesome. And that also describes them both as people. Sometimes style reveals something essential about people; sometimes style is mere window dressing. For Stevie and Sean, it's certainly a peek into who they are. Being that open, I could see how their families and friends so completely accepted them as the people they presented themselves to be: inviting, quirky, dramatic, intriguing (and easily intrigued).

Their wedding at the Lorien Hotel invited an intimate number of friends and family, It wasn't too big or too small. I've come to love the space there, and the rooftop is a real treat.

I've posted many photos of things Sean and Stevie were wearing--that's because all of it was handmade. This was the first occasion I've photographed when the groom needed more time to dress than the bride. It's not the kilt; it's the accessories. Aside from Stevie's rockin' dress, my favorite from her wardrobe was the "Handbook for the Recently Deceased" handbag that Stevie was toting around. I hope that you catch the pun in their "Bridezilla." I enjoyed imagining Bridezilla trampling through the table assignment cards, sowing confusion amongst guests.

The toasts didn't disappoint, probably due to the strategic use of notecards (see below), among other things (being heartfelt). Luckily, we had a little time to steal away a quick portrait of Stevie and Sean by the lights near the hotel entrance. One can argue that the drinks and handbag detract from the composition, but given their contents, I disagree. They were totally Stevie and Sean.

Congrats!

Dag
