Wedding Photography Advice: Dirty Dress

Jennifer Domenick Love Life Images Besides the guy you are marrying, your dress is probably the most important consideration, right? Some brides have been planning the dress their whole lives!  We spend hours and tons of money finding the right dress, having it altered, thinking about what to wear under it (underwear is a whole minefield in itself), changing our minds, stressing about how it will look on the wedding day… there is even a reality show centered around  “the dress.”   So when you wear it on your wedding day, I can understand why you might be worried about getting it dirty. But, it IS  going to get dirty. Especially if you wear the dress to it’s full potential. I’m not saying you will be covered-in-mud dirty, I mean more like dirt on the underside because you were too busy enjoying a moment with your new husband to worry about the street you were walking in dirty. It’s not as bad as you think. Here’s the underside of recent bride Lauren’s dress after our wedding day portrait session:

But Lauren didn’t think once about her dress. She was having too much fun enjoying the moment with her new husband:

The photos we create because you were willing to do something a bit different – walk through the field or alley or sit on a bench, or step- will be worth it. It’s okay – it’s your wedding day and everyone will be looking at you and appreciating how happy you are and won’t even care about the underside of your dress.
