Sequoia DC Wedding : Lauren and Joseph
Rarely have I met a couple with more good cheer. One of my favorite images from the wedding is of the two of them under umbrellas, not caring at all about the rain, but merely enjoying each other's company.
Their senses of humor was contagious to those not related to them, and obviously genetic from the evidence I saw among their family members. I always know when a wedding is going well when the people start dancing during cocktail hour. Lauren and Joe were a treat to photograph, especially with so many details expertly handled (and therefore non distracting) by their wonderful planner Catherine Sonoda Jennings Davis. Their wedding at the Sequoia in Georgetown included good food, and a second level bar that overlooked the dance floor that turned out to be a great place for people to watch the dancing and cycle back downstairs again.
After the ceremony, we took a walk outside (the Sequoia waiter followed with drinks and appetizers!) for some photographs they wanted with the bridge in the background. In a couple seconds, it was as if they forgot about me, and the overcast evening leant a nice, soft light that brought out just the right texture in their faces. Thanks, Lauren and Joe. I loved the whole evening.
