How to Add DC into Your Wedding Day

After years of photographing weddings in Washington, DC, the Love Life Images' team has seen it all. From intimate brunch weddings to elaborate Indian weddings with 700 guests, each unique in its' own way, but that's what we love about DC!

Today we're sharing some real wedding inspiration on ways you can add a touch of DC to your wedding day.

Washington DC has such an iconic skyline with all the historic buildings and monuments, so adding a photo or sketch to your save-the-dates or wedding invitations is an eye-catching way to set the tone for your DC-themed wedding.

We also love the idea of incorporating a metro map into your wedding stationary for a fun pop of color!

Keep the DC skyline theme going by adding this detail to your place cards and menus:

Kari and Brian took the DC theme even farther, by using iconic DC sites, like the White House and Museum of Natural History, for their table numbers:

Jenni and Tim's wedding had political elements, with these custom campaign lanyards and buttons:

Using the DC Skyline as your guestbook is a fun idea and will add unique decor to your home after your wedding day:

You can even send your wedding invitation to the President and First Lady and receive a best wishes card in return:

Kasey and Seth added a pop of color to their wedding cake with a nighttime DC look:

Diana and Logan paid homage to President Lincoln with these custom frisbee wedding favors:

A great surprise for wedding guests is a visit from the Washington Nationals' racing presidents, or you could even hold your wedding at Nats Park!

The Hay-Adams is another gorgeous location for amazing views of DC. It would be a great reception location to give your out-of-town guests a unique perspective of the White House and Washington Monument.

And to truly capture DC in your wedding, give yourself time to stop at one of the Monuments on the Mall for bridal party photos, or even have your intimate wedding ceremony at one of our favorite venues, the DC War Memorial.
